Dan McSweeney's Whale Watch Learning Adventures ("we," "us") runs whale watching tours from Kailua-Kona, Hawai'i, and operates this website, ilovewhales.com. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit the site or book a tour, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

When you book a tour. Our online reservation form is provided by our booking partner, RedRoad. When you make a reservation you give us details such as your name, email address, phone number, the number of people in your party, and payment information. Payment details are handled by RedRoad and its payment processor; we do not store your full card number.

When you contact us. If you call or email us, we keep the information you share so we can answer your questions and manage your booking.

When you browse the site. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, such as which pages are viewed, roughly where visitors are located (city or country level), what kind of device and browser they use, and how they found us. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect this information. It does not give us your name or contact details.

How we use your information

  • To confirm, manage, and contact you about your tour, including weather-related changes or cancellations.
  • To answer your questions.
  • To understand how the website is used so we can improve it.
  • To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.

We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

We share information only with service providers who help us run our business, and only as needed for them to do so:

  • RedRoad, which provides our reservation system and processes bookings and payments.

  • Our website host, which stores standard server logs (such as IP address and pages requested) for security and troubleshooting.

We may also disclose information if required by law.

Third-party content

Some pages include content from other companies, such as videos from YouTube and a rating badge from Tripadvisor. Our videos use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode, which does not set YouTube cookies until you play a video. These companies may collect information about your visit under their own privacy policies. Links to other websites, such as Facebook, are governed by those sites' policies.

Your choices

  • You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work.

How long we keep information

We keep booking records for as long as needed to provide your tour and to meet legal and accounting requirements. Google Analytics data is kept for a limited period and then deleted automatically.

Children

This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them online. Reservations for children are made by a parent or guardian.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed.
